Balloch Community Woodlands Creetown

River Life

Since the Balloch burn is not accessible for sea trout due to the number of waterfalls along its length, it consequently has a pure population of brown trout – one of the few rivers in Scotland with such conditions.

Salmon, eels and beetles are amongst the other creatures found in the waters while ivy, mosses, grasses, lichen and other plants cover the gorge river banks.
